By accessing or using Tweggo, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About Tweggo

Tweggo is a peer-to-peer car sharing platform that connects car owners with renters seeking flexible and affordable transportation options.

We facilitate bookings, payments, and communication—but we do not own the vehicles listed on the platform.

2. Eligibility

To use Tweggo, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Provide accurate personal information
  • Hold a valid driver’s license (for renters)
  • Pass our verification process

We reserve the right to approve, reject, or suspend any account at our discretion.

3. Account & Verification

All users must complete identity verification, which may include:

  • Government-issued ID
  • Driving license validation
  • Background checks (where applicable)

Verified profiles help maintain trust and safety across the platform.

You are responsible for keeping your account details secure.

4. Platform Role

Tweggo acts as a technology intermediary:

  • We connect car owners and renters
  • We enable bookings and payments
  • We provide tracking, support, and dispute assistance

We are not responsible for:

  • Vehicle condition
  • Driver behavior
  • Direct agreements between users

5. Bookings & Payments

  • All bookings must be made through the Tweggo platform
  • Payments are processed securely via supported payment methods
  • Tweggo charges a commission on each completed transaction

Bookings are only confirmed once payment is completed.

6. Vehicle Use (For Renters)

By renting a vehicle, you agree to:

  • Use the vehicle responsibly and legally
  • Not sublet or transfer the booking
  • Return the vehicle in agreed condition and time
  • Follow all traffic laws

Prohibited use includes:

  • Illegal activities
  • Reckless or unsafe driving
  • Unauthorized drivers

7. Vehicle Listing (For Owners)

Car owners agree to:

  • Provide accurate vehicle information
  • Ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and insured
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards
  • Honor confirmed bookings

Tweggo may suspend listings that fail quality or safety standards.

8. GPS Tracking & Monitoring

Tweggo uses GPS tracking and technology to:

  • Monitor vehicle usage
  • Enhance safety and security
  • Provide real-time data in case of incidents

By using the platform, you consent to this monitoring.

9. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellation policies may vary depending on timing and booking conditions
  • Refunds (if applicable) will be processed via the original payment method
  • Tweggo may apply cancellation fees

10. Insurance & Liability

  • Tweggo may offer optional insurance or protection plans.

    However:

    • Owners are responsible for their vehicle insurance
    • Renters are responsible for damages caused during rental
    • Tweggo is not liable for direct losses, damages, or disputes between users

11. Safety & Conduct

  • Users must:

    • Treat others respectfully
    • Follow platform guidelines
    • Avoid fraudulent or harmful behavior

    We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations.

12. Disputes & Support

  • Tweggo provides support for:

    • Booking issues
    • Payment disputes
    • Incident reporting

    We aim to resolve issues fairly but do not guarantee outcomes in all disputes.

13. Data & Privacy

  • We collect and process user data to:

    • Enable platform functionality
    • Improve services
    • Ensure safety and compliance

    All data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Limitation of Liability

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law:

    Tweggo shall not be liable for:

    • Indirect or consequential damages
    • Loss of income or opportunity
    • Vehicle damage or misuse

    Use of the platform is at your own risk.

15. Modifications

  • We may update these Terms at any time.

    Continued use of the platform means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
